Property owners and renters may have questions regarding VRUL. As a result, we've provided this FAQ section as an educational tool to assist you in your decision making process.
As a prospective renter, do I need to Join VRUL?
No. If you are looking for a vacation property to rent, there is nothing to Join. Simply click on Search for Rentals and get started today.
Availability Calendar
How do I update the availability calendar for my listing?
Your personal availability calendar is maintained through our Member Login area. Simply login using your username and password. You will see a brief description of each of your listings along with an option to Edit the Availability Calendar. In the administration section, you have the ability to list and view reservations for your property. Prospective renters will only see that the date is not available. They will not see the renter information.

What is the annual listing fee?
Our annual listing fee is $49.00 per year with 3 pictures.
As a property owner or manager, what does my membership entitle me to?
Your VRUL membership entitles you to the following:
- 24/7 exposure of your property
- Professional listing complete with photographs, description, and rates that you set
- NO management or setup fees.
- Personal Availability Calendar included
- Option to list 2 links to your personal website or a related site
- Ability to edit your information 24 hours a day
- Dedicated marketing plan to make sure your listing is found

- Personal webpage for your listing. You can use the link with other marketing activities.
Payment
How do I pay for additional photos if I add them to my listing later?
When we receive your request to add photos, we will send you an e-mail with the payment terms and payment options. Upon receipt, you may pay with a credit card on-line or by phone or fax. We will also accept personal checks made payable to Vacation Rentals Unlimited.
Can I enter and pay for multiple listings at one time?
If you are paying on-line, you must enter and pay for one listing at a time. If you elect to Pay Later, you will setup each listing and receive a confirmation e-mail for each listing. You may then summarize your total and send us one payment.
Photos
How do I add photos to my vacation property listing?
All photos should be sent to VRUL either by e-mail at photos@vrul.com or regular mail. If you have digital photos, you can send the files to us via e-mail. However, if you only have actual photographs, just send them to us and we will scan them for you. Direct mail should be sent to: Vacation Rentals Unlimited,200 Summerston Place Mauldin,SC 29662. Be sure to include the following information with each photo: VRUL#, your name, and a brief description. Note: If you would like your photos returned, you must include a self-addressed, stamped envelope with your photographs.
How can I add extra photos after my listing is already Live?
You will always have the option to add more photographs later to improve the ranking of your listing. If you would like to add photos, simply send us an e-mail at photos@vrul.com with the photo files attached or mail the actual photos to us and we will scan them for you. As always, be sure to include your name, VRUL #, and a brief description with each photo.
VRUL Listing Features
What determines how my property will be ranked or the order that it will be listed?
Properties are listed first by geographical location. VRUL ranks each listing within a category using two criteria. The first criteria is the number of photos. Listings are ranked from high to low based on the number of photographs that are shown. So, if you want to improve the positioning of your listing within a category, simply add more photos. The second criteria we use for ranking is the VRUL listing #. If multiple listings within a location have the same number of photographs, the one with the lowest listing # will be ranked highest.
Can I have a link to my own web page?
Yes - we allow you to provide up to 2 links to other sites.
How can I improve my listing position?
VRUL ranks each listing within a category using two criteria. The first criteria is the number of photos. So, if you want to improve the positioning of your listing within a category, simply add more photos. You have the opportunity to add photos at any time throughout your subscription.
Why can't I list more than one property for each listing?
Our goal is to assist you in renting your vacation property and our site is designed for each listing to describe one property only. Rentors can become confused if multiple properties are available through one listing. However, if you own or manage multiple properties, VRUL encourages you to list them and we also offer you a discount. Property owners also have the ability to provide up to 2 links to personal web sites. VRUL strictly prohibits advertising more than one property per listing. Listings that do so will be removed.
How soon will my listing be shown?
Your property listing will be immediately added to our database. This means prospective renters will be able to find your property immediately. However, your photos will need to be added after the listing is live. This is why it's important to send us your photos as soon as possible, so that we can place them on your listing.
